ok guys i will share my lesson in the school, and this is about "hortatory expotition"... ok check it out
The function of the text is ti persuade the readers or listeners that something should or should not be the case.
Generic structure :
1. Thesis : announcement of issue of concern
2. Arguments : reason of concern , leading to recommendation
3. Recommendation : statement of whwt should or should not be the case (happen)
Language features :
a. Focus and generic human and non human participant except for speaker or writer referring to self
b. Mental Processes : to state what writer thinks or feels about issue
example : realize, feel, appreciate
c. Material Processes : to state what happen
d example : drive, go, travel, spend, etc...
e. Relational Processes : to state what is or should be
example : is, are, doesn't seem to have been
use simple present tense and passive voice
